The Immaculate Room is a textbook example of

The Immaculate Room is a textbook example of a film that is perfectly fine, though it never quite reaches the potential of its premise. It centers on a compelling high-concept idea, but the execution feels disappointingly bland and safe, opting for predictable psychological tropes rather than truly pushing any boundaries. While it doesn't reinvent the thriller genre, the performances are solid enough to keep it engaging. Ultimately, it’s a decent enough watch to pass the time if you're looking for a low-stakes exploration of human isolation.

The Immaculate Room (2022) is a 92-minute-long, multinational-produced, sci-fi suspense film I saw on Prime in April 2026. This is one of those Covid-lockdown films, it felt to me. That is neither to diminish nor admonish this film for it can be tight and tidy: in one of the first scenes, the dialogue quickly and naturally establish that all’s not well in Kansas, Toto; the ending in one pan showing one plaque tells us one protagonist’s plot-end. Is it entertaining and or interesting? Ehhhrrrr… it’s a bit theatrical (one room drama… well, two… sorry for forgetting you, Bathroom). The two people are also a tad… bland, albeit they have a lot of unspoken trauma. Rewatch? No. Recommend? No. 4/10.

I didn’t hate it, didn’t really like it

I didn’t hate it, didn’t really like it either. It’s mostly boring, but it has its moments. Check it out for yourself.
