Plot summary

When brilliant but isolated high school senior Clara’s English teacher dies mysteriously, a charismatic replacement arrives who takes a disturbing interest in her academic potential. As Mr. Heller’s mentorship turns to dangerous obsession, Clara uncovers his horrifying secret identity and murderous past. Now trapped in a psychological game with a predator who’s eliminated anyone standing in his way, Clara must use her understanding of Heller’s twisted psychology against him before she becomes his next victim. It's a great thriller with strong main characters

It's a great thriller with strong main characters and interesting supporting ones. Grateful that the protagonist is so complex. The film has a great pace, and the photography is excellent. It's definitely an example of how to create something that looks great on a tight budget. I'd recommend watching it with a good sound system.

Teacher’s Pet is a low budget thriller about

Teacher’s Pet is a low budget thriller about a teacher who takes over a school position after the previous teacher tragically takes their own life. From the beginning the film clearly shows its limitations, as the cinematography feels grainy and the editing and sound design lack the polish needed to make it feel fully cinematic. Despite those flaws, the movie manages to stay watchable. The actor playing the teacher does a solid job carrying the story, while the character Zack is also well cast and brings some believable energy to the screen. The main female lead isn’t perfect in the role, but she performs well enough to keep the narrative moving. Where the film struggles most is in its technical execution and a weak third act that feels bland and underdeveloped. Still, it holds enough interest to finish. It’s not a film you’ll likely revisit, but it can work as a simple one time watch if you’re curious.
