Steve Zahn in your typical rekindling of parent vs child relationship where the side characters get sidelined hard just to focus on that relationship and prep for the dances. The first 15 minutes kind of felt like an actual movie. If you need a father's day pick-me-up movie, this is for you.

The film is a tender exploration of grief

The film is a tender exploration of grief, healing, and family bonds set in the world of competitive youth dance. Saw it on the big screen at its premiere in LA and was deeply moved. It’s the kind of bf I’ll you recommend to folks when you know they want to be reminded that there is still good in the world. That the creators of this film are industry veterans (Director Rick Gomez is also a super talented actor—Band of Brothers, Ray, Silo, Justified) and that’s apparent in the skillful crafting of this film. Breakout star Audrey Zahn is what the press called a revelation when the film debuted at Tribeca Film Festival. That she shares that very real bond with her Dad in the film (played by her real Dad Steve Zahn) gives the film a weight and authenticity we don’t see often enough. Expertly edited, produced, gorgeous music and a stellar cast….I’m going to watch this like I watch the West Wing—like the uplifting mood shifter I need in difficult times!
