Portal in the Pines is the kind of

Portal in the Pines is the kind of movie that spends most of its runtime trying to figure out what it wants to be, leaving the audience confused along the way. The story jumps between strange ideas involving aliens, mysterious portals, and possible spiritual elements, but it never commits to a clear direction. At times it almost feels like the film is about to make sense, yet it quickly drifts back into chaotic storytelling that struggles to find its footing. Instead of building suspense or intrigue, the constant confusion makes the experience frustrating. A mystery driven film should guide viewers through its world while slowly revealing answers, but here the narrative often feels scattered and unfinished. The performances also fail to elevate the material. The young actor at the center of the story delivers a performance that feels awkward and unpolished, making it hard to connect with the character. Overall, the film feels disorganized and ultimately becomes a frustrating watch.
