Plot summary

After a young man is separated from his friends in the woods, he falls into a ten-foot deep pit of spikes, impaling him through his leg and leaving him trapped. He quickly learns that his fall was not an accident.

Pretty good horror with a drama aspect with the characters with a killer at large the cast give there best it drags a bit in the middle

Pitfall manages to be a slasher film that

Pitfall manages to be a slasher film that works given its direction and narrative. In this film, you actually care about the characters and what happens to them, while finding yourself becoming immersed in their past traumas. The film makes Wrong Turn look like a walk in the park given its use of effective, gnarly kills that at times come out of nowhere when you least expect them to. Furthermore, the performances were all top notch and kept the viewer invested throughout the entire runtime. This is an example of a slasher done right and is worth checking out.

If you need a great summer horror film

If you need a great summer horror film, watch Pitfall! Many recommendations abound for certain, but James Kondelik definitely knew what he was doing from the very beginning of the film. He is joined by Victor Rose who wrote the screenplay and producers Alex Bogomolov and Wei Sun Cheng who are all master storytellers and get the storyline to make something that adds more depth to movies like the Friday the 13th franchise and even other thrillers like the Wrong Turn series which makes camping trips more anxiety-provoking than they already are. But still more impressive is the cast that includes Marshall Williams, Richard Harmon, Brenna Llewellyn, Alexandra Essoe, and the villain, Randy Couture and just to name five actors. Every actor, however, deserves mention as they not only keep the backstory going of a family forever marred by a tragedy, but forced to keep going forward even as they are being hunted down.
