Plot summary

Moorish general Othello is manipulated into thinking that his new wife Desdemona has been carrying on an affair with his lieutenant Michael Cassio when in reality it's all part of a scheme orchestrated by bitter ensign Iago. Filmed live at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London especially for the big screen.

I was lucky enough to see this cast

I was lucky enough to see this cast in London right before Thanksgiving and it was incredible. I was excited to go see this in the movie theater to relive that experience. There were only a few of us in the theater, which was a shame because I guess that promotion wasn’t big for this. Hopefully they can rethink this because so a few of the site I think that David Harewood and Toby jones should send out Personal thank you to everyone who did. Everyone loved the show who was there yesterday. It was a hot day in Los yesterday but no one was heating up like the evil "honest man" Iago. Great villain

Outstanding performances! There isn't one character whose performance

Outstanding performances! There isn't one character whose performance stood out amongst the others. The cast was that good! There hasn't been a National Theater performance that has disappointed.

Settle in, adjust to the old language and

Settle in, adjust to the old language and be moved shocked, angry and sad. There are one or two humorous moments but this is Happy Valley with no happiness in the ending- it’s tragic. A beautiful marriage destroyed by a manipulative, conniving, weak little man played brilliantly Toby Jones alongside great acting by all the main characters. This is toxic stuff little masked by the old english of Shakespeare who writes with a vulgarity (swearing) that left me surprised it’s not rated 15.
