Plot summary

When Brian Epstein set foot in the Cavern Club in November 1961 to watch The Beatles perform, he saw something no one else could – a glimmer of gold. Sharply dressed and well-spoken, Brian was hardly the most obvious radical – but being Jewish, closeted and having grown up as an outsider who had failed at pretty much everything, he was a 26-year old with something to prove and who wanted to tear up the rulebook.

I feel the ratings for this are too

I feel the ratings for this are too high. It's not terrible, but a huge missed opportunity to really dive into Mr. Epstein's life and influence on The Beatles. The acting is fine, not great. It glosses over some major events and milestones, while running with obscure and unconfirmed stories. There are some things that happened in his life and around The Beatles that are up for debate. This firmly chooses a side on those to present as fact. That just rubs me the wrong way. There is plenty of drama, excitement, scandal, and mystery around The Beatles and Brian without the need to make up more. I really was looking forward to this movie, as I feel Brian's life and impact on The Beatles is so overlooked and underrated. It didn't life up to my expectation. So a decent movie left me feeling more "meh" than anything else. P.S. The absense of Beatles music in a Beatles movie is quite noticeable.

Really enjoyable movie, if you are a beatles

Really enjoyable movie, if you are a beatles fan then it a must watch. Jacob Fortune-Lloyd's is excellent in his role which brings the movie to life. The lack of the beatles music didn't really impact the film as it was made to tell a story and as a result the story is front and centre. Got a few hours to chill then put this on. Feet up and relax.
