FULL SPOILER-FREE REVIEW @ https://fandomwire.com/barrons-cove-review/ "Barron's Cove is a remarkable debut from Evan Ari Kelman, marked by bold direction and deeply felt performances - especially from Garrett Hedlund, delivering one of the most powerful turns of his career. Despite some narrative missteps and an ending that weakens the emotional crescendo, the film lingers in the mind thanks to its honest exploration of childhood trauma, guilt, forgiveness, and the potential for redemption. It's a story that challenges viewers to look beyond isolated actions, confirming that it's always worth seeking out new voices in independent cinema." Rating: B+

Decent movie in this genre.

Barron's Cove is worth watching if you like a crime/drama with a touch of vengeance. Garrett Hedlund plays the devastated father, on a mission to discover the truth about his kid's death. Christian Convery plays the kid you want to hate, a totally different character as in Sweet Tooth, a series where he played the boy everyone loved. At his young age he's been in several good movies so a promising acting future is laying ahead of him. Overall good acting from the entire cast, a gripping story that is easy to follow. A decent movie in this genre.

Caleb Faulkner (Garret Hedlund) has a history of violence. But when his son Barron (Dante Hale) is tragically killed, the grieving father kidnaps Ethan Chambers (Christian Convery), the child responsible, igniting a frenzied manhunt fueled by a powerful politician, the father of the kidnapped boy. It's a typical revenge tale with sub plots and some twists, but it is very well done. There's lots of drama and lot's of nail biting tension.Brittany Snow plays a decent part as Caleb's wife Jackie, and Garret Hedlund is back to his normal brooding self in a role meant for him. When Hedlund is at his best he is great to watch. Stephen Lang is great as usual although his deep fried voice which is a deliberate affectation is grinding as usual and I truly wish he would drop it.Christian Convery, who did a great job in the excellent Sweet Tooth, is beyond great in the role of Ethan Chambers. It's great to see such a young actor turn in such a powerful performance. All in all a satisfying and enjoyable film and I gave it a solid 7.
